Devotional Reflection Based on the Incident of Peter Cutting Off Malchus's Ear: “Then one of those standing near drew his sword and struck the servant of the high priest, cutting off his ear.” ( Mark 14:47, Today's Korean Version ) 1. Identifying the People Involved: The person who stood beside Jesus and drew the sword was Simon Peter . The servant of the high priest was named Malchus . “Then Simon Peter, who had a sword, drew it and struck the high priest’s servant, cutting off his right ear. 우리는 보이는 쇠약해 가는 우리의 겉 사람과 이 세상에서 잠시 받는 가벼운 고난을 바라보지 않습니다.  우리는 보이지 않는 날마다 새로와지고 있는 속사람과 그 무엇과도 비교될 수 없는 다가 오는 세상의 크고 엄청난 영원한 영광을 바라봅니다.  "보이는 것은 잠깐이지만 보이지 않는 것은 영원하기 때문입니다."(고린도후서 4:16-18, 현대인의 성경).
