하나님께서 우리를 위하여 악인들을 물리쳐 주시는 이유는 우리가 선하거나 의롭다거나 정직해서가 아니라 그들이 악하기 때문이요 또한 우리에게 하신 약속을 지키기 위해서입니다(참고: 신명기 9:4-5, 현대인의 성경).
