If a human being tries to seat himself in the “place of honor,” he will ultimately be put to shame; but if he seats himself in the “lowest place” (the place of Jesus Christ),  God will exalt him.         “Now He began speaking a parable to the invited guests when He noticed how they had been picking out the places of honor at the table, saying to them, ‘When you are invited by someone to a wedding feast, do not take the place of honor, for someone more distinguished than you may have been invited by him, and he who invited you both will come and say to you, “Give your place to this man,” and then in disgrace you proceed to occupy the last place. When we try to pray to God ...

When we try to pray to God ...

Apostle Peter went up to the rooftop to pray

and, through a vision, heard the voice of the Lord.

He then met Cornelius, his relatives, and close friends,

and preached the gospel of Jesus Christ to them.

As Cornelius and his household received baptism in the name of Jesus Christ

(Acts 10:9-48),

Apostle Paul, wondering if there was a place for prayer,

went outside the city to the riverside.

There he met Lydia, and the Lord opened her heart to heed Paul's message.

Eventually, she and all her household were baptized together (16:13-15).

When we pray to God, He orchestrates such encounters,

enabling us to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ

and accomplish the work of salvation!
