A. What Is Biblical Mission? “Biblical mission means more than simply going overseas to plant churches or spread civilization. It means the church participating in the ‘mission of God (Missio Dei)’ and seeking the restoration of God’s rule and glory throughout the whole earth. Mission is not a program that begins with human enthusiasm; rather, it is the heart of God that runs throughout the Bible, from Genesis to Revelation, and is a fundamental reason for the church’s existence. Let me clearly summarize five essential principles of true mission as presented in Scripture. 🌍 1. The Mission of God (Missio Dei) The subject and initiator of mission is not human beings but God. In order to save fallen humanity, God first comes to us, sends His Son, and sends the Holy Spirit. He is the “missionary God” who sends. 우리 주님은 우리를 이 세상의 무거운 짐에서 우리를 건지시는 구원의 하나님이십니다. 특히 우리 주님은 우리를 죄의 짐에서 건져주시는 하나님이십니다. 그리고 우리 주님은 날마다 우리 짐을 지시는 주님이시요 우리의 구원이신 하나님이십니다(이사야 68:19). 그러므로 우리는 우리 짐을 다 주님께 맡겨야 합니다(베드로전서 5:7). 우리를 구원해 주시고 우리를 돌보시는 주님께서 우리의 무거운 짐을 대신 져주시사 우리로 하여금 쉬게하실 것입니다(마태복음 11:28). 주님께서는 우리 마음에 쉼을 주실 것입니다(29절). 주님께서는 우리의 낙망한 영혼을 다시금 소성케 하실 것입니다(시편 19:7).
우리는 하나님의 행하심보다 하나님의 하나님 되심에 초점을 맞추고 믿음으로 담대하게 하나님께 간구해야 합니다.
현재 삶 속에 고통과 역경으로 인하여 우리의 심령이 속에서 상하고 마음이 참담할 때 우리는 과거에 주님께서 베풀어주신 은혜를 기억해야 합니다. 특히 우리는 현재 어떠한 힘든 상황 가운데 놓여 있을지라도 과거의 상황이 현재의 상황보다 더 어렵고 힘들었음에도 불구하고 하나님께서 구원해 주신 것을 기억하면서 현재의 어려운 상황 속에서 그 주님의 구원의 은총을 기념해야 합니다. 과거에도 우리의 기도를 들으시사 응답해 주셔서 우리를 건져주신 하나님께서는 충분히 현재 우리가 당면한 힘들고 어려운 상황에서도 우리를 반드시 건져주실 것입니다. 이 구원의 확신이 우리 에게 있길 기원합니다.
