Chapter 11: Emptying “Grumbling” In the previous chapter, we looked at the life of emptying ourselves of sexual immorality and wrongful desires and turning our love back toward God. Now, in Chapter 11, we will look at another problem that easily settles into our hearts and onto our lips. It is a grumbling heart. As we go through life, there are many moments when we grumble. “Why did this happen to me?” “Why does that person treat me this way?” “Why is my family going through such a difficult time?” “Why is the church like this?” “Why did God allow this?” Even when we do not speak these words aloud, we may repeat them countless times in our hearts. But in the Bible, grumbling is not merely a matter of uttering a few complaints. 도무지 이해할 수 없는 하나님의 일하심 하나님의 일하심은 우리의 지성으로는 도무지 이해가 안 될수도 있습니다 . 아니 , 어떻게 하나님께서는 하나님의 종 엘리야의 말을 듣고 순종하여 하나님의 기적을 경험한 사르밧 과부에게 하나 밖에 없는 아들이 죽는 위기를 허락하실 수 있습니까 ( 열왕기상 17 장 13-24 절 ). 하나님의 기적을 경험한 후에 더 큰 기적이 없다할지라도 적어도 아무 재앙이 없어야하지 않나요 . 어쩌면 하나님께서는 그러한 위기를 통해서 우리의 죄를 생각나게 하시길 원하실 수도 있습니다 (18 절 ). 그 정도로 우리는 우리의 삶 속에 위기가 없이는 우리의 죄를 생각하지 못하는가 봅니다 . 어쩌면 하나님께서는 그러한 위기를 통해서 우리가 하나님께 부르짖기를 원하실 수도 있습니다 (19-21 절 ). 그 정도로 우리는 우리의 삶 속에 위기가 없이는 하나님께 부르짖지 않는 것 같습니다 . 어쩌면 하나님께서는 그러한 위기를 통해서 하나님께서 우리의 기도를 응답해 주신다는 것과 하나님의 종과 하나님의 말씀의 진실성을 깨닫게 하시려는 것 같습니다 (22-24 절 ).
