왜 하나님께서는 우리를 궁핍케 하시는 것일까요?
하나님께서는 에스겔 선지자에게 이렇게 말씀하셨습니다:
“내가 예루살렘에 식량 공급을 끊어 버리겠다.
백성들이 낙심하며 양식을 달아 먹고 근심 중에 물을 되어 마실 것이다. 그러다가 양식과 물이 떨어지면 그들은 절망 가운데서 서로의 비참한 모습을 보고 놀라며 자기들의 죄 때문에 시들어 갈 것이다”(에스겔
4:16-17, 현대인의 성경). 왜 하나님께서는 우리를 궁핍케 하시는 것일까요? 분명히 우리가 낙심하고 근심 중에 허덕이실 것을 알고 계실 텐데 말입니다. 혹시 하나님은 우리가 “고통 가운데서 여호와께 부르짖”게 하시려는 것일까요?
