지혜로운 여인은 하나님의 뜻대로 삽니다(참고: 잠14:8). 지혜로운
여인은 자기 남편을 존경할 뿐만 아니라(엡 6:33) 또한 남편으로 하여금 사람들에게도 존경을 받게합니다(잠
31:23). 지혜로운 여인은 남편의 책망도 겸손히 듣습니다.
오히려
그녀는 남편의 책망을 환영합니다. 그 이유는 그녀는 남편의 책망을 자신에게 유익되게 할 줄 알기 때문입니다. 즉, 지혜로운 여인은 남편의 책망으로 하여금 자기 자신에게 학식을 더하게 할 줄 압니다(1:5; 9:9). 지혜로운
여인은 자기 남편에게 말하지 않고 행동으로 옮겨야 할 때를 압니다(삼상
25:19). 지혜로운
여인은 위기 때 신속히 행합니다(삼상 25:34, 42). 남편의 죄를 자기에게 돌려 하나님께 용서를 구합니다(24,
28절). 남편으로
하여금 마음에 걸리는 일을 하지 않도록 막습니다 (31, 33절). 남편을 세웁니다(28-30절). 지혜로운 여인은 주님께 하듯 남편에게 복종합니다(엡5:22; 골3:18). 그
이유는 그것은 주님을 믿는 사람으로서 마땅히 해야 할 일이기 때문입니다(골3:18).
그러므로
그녀는 하나님의 말씀이 비난을 받게하지 않습니다(딛2:5). 육신의
눈으로 보이는 남편에게 복종하지 않고 있는 여자는 보이지 않는 주님께 복종하고 있는 것이 아닙니다.
