A. What Is Biblical Mission? “Biblical mission means more than simply going overseas to plant churches or spread civilization. It means the church participating in the ‘mission of God (Missio Dei)’ and seeking the restoration of God’s rule and glory throughout the whole earth. 맹세와 약속한 것을 지켜야 합니다.
비록 여호수아와 이스라엘 백성의 지도자들은 하나님께 물어보지도 않고
또한 사실을 확인도 하지 않은 체 기브온 사람들의 꾐에 넘어가 그들과 평화 조약을 맺었지만 하나님의 이름으로 그들과 엄숙히 맹세한 것을 건드리지
않았고 또한 기브온 사람들에게 맹세한 맹약(약속)을 어기지 않았습니다(여호수아 9:3-20, 현대인의 성경). 이 말씀을 묵상할 때 교회 지도자들이 잘못하고 실수하여 비록
교인들에게 원망을 받을 수밖에 없다 할지라도 하나님의 이름으로 맹세하고 또한 교회 지도자들을 속인 자들에게 한 약속도 어기지 말고 지켜야 한다는
교훈을 받습니다.
