만일 우리가 우리 마음의 악한 고집대로 하려고 하고 있다면 우리는 선지자인 예레미야와 같은 주님의 (목사) 어떤 말에도 귀를 기울이지 않고 주의하지도 않을 것입니다.  어쩌면 나아가서, 우리는 그러한 진실된 주님의 종을 해치고자 음모를 꾸밀 수도 있습니다(참고: 예레미야 18:18, 현대인의 성경).
