우리의 기도를 거절하시는 것도 우리의 기도 응답?
모세는 세상의 그 누구보다도 겸손한 사람이었습니다(민수기 12:3, 현대인의 성경). 그는 하나님의 집에 충성스러운 종이었습니다. 그래서 하나님께서는 그와 말씀하셨을 때는 직접 대면하여 분명하게
말씀하셨고 모호한 말씀으로 하지 않으셨습니다. 그리고 모세는 하나님의 형상까지 본 자였습니다(7-8절, 현대인의 성경). 그럼에도
불구하고 모세가 하나님께 "내가 요단강을 건너갈 수 있게 하소서. 그래서 강 저편에 좋은 땅과 아름다운 산간지대와 레바논을
보게 하소서"라고 간구했을 때 하나님께서는 모세에게 "그것으로 충분하다! 이 문제에 대해서 다시는 말하지 말아라"고 말씀하셨습니다(신명기 3:25-26, 현대인의 성경). 그 이유는 모세가 므리바에서 하나님을 믿지 않고 하나님의
명령을 거역하여 이스라엘 백성들 앞에서 하나님을 거룩한 자로 높이지 않았기 때문이었습니다 (민수기
20:12, 24, 현대인의 성경).
이 말씀을 묵상할 때 하나님께서 우리의 기도를 거절하시는 것도 우리의 기도 응답이란 생각이 듭니다. 우리의 기도가 거절 될 때 그 기도를 하나님께 관철하려고
하기보다 우리 자신을 자아 성찰하며 자아 반성하는 시간을 갖는 것이 더 유익하리라 생각합니다.
