God’s love, which is stronger than death, is causing me to continue walking the path of the mission the Lord has given me (John 6:1–15). “At that very time some Pharisees came and said to Him, ‘Leave this place and go somewhere else. Herod wants to kill You.’ He replied, ‘Go tell that fox, “I will keep driving out demons and healing people today and tomorrow, and on the third day I will reach My goal.” In any case, I must press on today and tomorrow and the next day—for surely no prophet can die outside Jerusalem! Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets and stone those sent to you, how often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, and you were not willing. "복음으로 정말로 새롭게 되었다면 죄와 은혜를 균형 있게 이해하게 됩니다. 그 말은 겸손하고 동시에 담대하다는 겁니다. 아시겠죠? 겸손하여 죄인처럼 느끼지만 은혜에 대한 의식이 매우 커서 담대하고 자신감이 넘칩니다. 도덕주의자나 상대주의자는 이러한 균형감이 없습니다. 도덕주의자들은 늘 뭔가 불안하고 걱정에 싸여 있거나 지나친 자기 의에 빠져 있습니다. 물론 상대주의자들은 자신감에 넘쳐서 ‘내가 살고 싶은 대로 살아도 되 내가 살고 싶은 대로 살 거야’라는 식이죠. 하지만 복음은 독특하게 겸손함과 담대함 간의 균형을 만듭니다.
말하자면 그들에게 절박함이 있는가 하면 또한 엄숙함이 있습니다. 그들에게 일종의 숭고함이 있는가 하면 거만함이 없고 괴팍함도 없습니다. 우월감도 없고 자만심도 없습니다. 그들에겐 편안함이 있습니다. 이것은 복음으로 새로워진 사람의 다양한 모습으로 사람들은 그 모습을 보고 깜짝 놀라며 ‘나는 어떻지’라고 돌아보게 됩니다."
