예수님은 제자들에게 분명히 “너희도 알다시피 이틀만 지나면 유월절이다.
나는 사람들의 손에 넘어가 십자가에 못박힐 것이다”하고 말씀하셨는데도 불구하고(2절, 현대인의 성경) 그들은 유월절 절기를 준비한 것이지 막달라 마리아처럼 예수님의 장례를 준비한 것은 아니었습니다.
유월절 어린양이신 예수님의 십자가의 죽으심을 준비하지 못한 예수님의 제자들을 생각할 때 저는 예수님의 재림을 슬기로운 다섯 처녀들처럼 잘 준비해야겠다는 교훈을 받습니다(25:1-13).
