The Inseparable Love of God (1) [ Romans 8:38-39 ] Why can nothing separate us from the love of God? 1. Because God’s love is eternal. Romans 8:29a says: “For those whom He foreknew…” The word “foreknew” refers to before eternity began —before the creation of heaven and earth . The phrase “those whom He foreknew” does not simply mean knowing about someone intellectually, but rather loving them. In other words, it refers to “those whom God loved from eternity past.” Amos 3:2a says: “You only have I known of all the families of the earth.” If “known” merely meant intellectual knowledge, that would imply that God only knew Israel and did not know the other nations—which cannot be true, because the all-knowing God lacks knowledge of nothing. 한 달란트)을 맡겼다고 말씀하고 있습니다(마태복음
25:14-15, 현대인의 성경). 저는 이 말씀을 묵상할 때 우리 각자에게 주어진 “달란트”는 우리 것이 아니라 주님 것이라는 사실과 전지하신 주님께서 알아서 우리 각자에게 각 사람의 능력에 따라 “달란트”를 주셨다고 생각이 되었습니다. 그러므로 우리는 우리 각자의 “능력”과 우리 각자에게 주어진 “달란트”가 무엇인지 알고 감사히 받아들여야 한다는 교훈을 받습니다.
