A. What Is Biblical Mission? “Biblical mission means more than simply going overseas to plant churches or spread civilization. It means the church participating in the ‘mission of God (Missio Dei)’ and seeking the restoration of God’s rule and glory throughout the whole earth. Mission is not a program that begins with human enthusiasm; rather, it is the heart of God that runs throughout the Bible, from Genesis to Revelation, and is a fundamental reason for the church’s existence. Let me clearly summarize five essential principles of true mission as presented in Scripture. 🌍 1. The Mission of God (Missio Dei) The subject and initiator of mission is not human beings but God. 배반과 버림을 받으신 예수님
최후의 만찬에서 “내가 분명히 말하지만 너희 중 하나가 나를 팔아 넘길 것이다.” 하고 말씀하신 예수님께서는 감란산에서는 “오늘 밤 너희는 모두 나를 버릴 것이다.
성경에도 내가 목자를 칠 것이니 양떼가 흩어질 것이다 라고 쓰여 있다.
그러나 내가 다시 살아나 너희보다 먼저 갈릴리로 가겠다.”하고 말씀하셨습니다(마태복음 26:21, 31-32, 현대인의 성경).
저는 이 말씀을 묵상할 때 성만찬 때에는 제자들 중에 가룟 유다가 자신을 팔아 넘길 것임을 아셨고, 기도하시려 감람산에 가셨을 때에는 모든 제자들이 자신을 버릴 것을 알고 계셨다는 생각이 들었습니다.
결국 예수님은 가룟 유다에게 배반을 당하시고 모든 제자들에게 버림을 받으신 것입니다.
그러신 후 예수님께서는 십자가상에서 사랑의 하나님(요한일서4:8, 16) 아버지께 버림을 받으셨습니다(마태복음 27:46). 이렇게 배반과 버림을 받으신 예수님을 생각할 때 이 찬송가 가사가 생각났습니다: “온 세상 만물 가져도 주 은혜 못 다 갚겠네 놀라운 사랑받은 나 몸으로 제물 삼겠네”(새 찬송가 149장 “주 달려 죽은 십자가” 4절).
