God’s love, which is stronger than death, is causing me to continue walking the path of the mission the Lord has given me (John 6:1–15). “At that very time some Pharisees came and said to Him, ‘Leave this place and go somewhere else. Herod wants to kill You.’ He replied, ‘Go tell that fox, “I will keep driving out demons and healing people today and tomorrow, and on the third day I will reach My goal.” In any case, I must press on today and tomorrow and the next day—for surely no prophet can die outside Jerusalem! Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets and stone those sent to you, how often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, and you were not willing. “깨어 있으라”는 주님의 말씀이 생각납니다.
신랑이 늦도록 오지 않자 등은 가졌으나 기름이 없는 어리석은 처녀들뿐만 아니라 등에 기름을 채워 둔 슬기로운 처녀들도 졸다가 잠이 들었습니다(마태복음
25:1-5, 현대인의 성경). 저는 이 말씀을 묵상할 때 “깨어 있으라”는 주님의 말씀이 생각납니다:
“그러므로 깨어 있으라 어느 날에 너희 주가 임할는지 너희가 알지 못함이니라”(마태복음
24:42), “그런즉 깨어 있으라 너희는 그 날과 그 때를 알지 못하느니라”(25:13),
“주의하라 깨어 있으라 그 때가 언제인지 알지 못함이라”(마가복음
13:33), “이러므로 너희는 장차 올 이 모든 일을 능히 피하고 인자 앞에 서도록 항상 기도하며 깨어 있으라 하시니라”(누가복음
21:36).
