어떻게 욥은 모든 것을 잃어버리고 나서도 하나님을 원망하지 않았을까요?
욥은 10명의 자녀들과 모든 소유물들을
잃어버린 후에도 하나님께 경배하면서 이렇게 말했습니다: “내가 태어날 때 아무것도 가져온 것 없었으니 죽을
때에도 아무것도 가져가지 못하리라 주신 자도 여호와시요 가져가신 자도 여호와시니 여호와의 이름이 찬양을 받으시기 원하노라.” 그리고 욥은 이 모든 일을 당하고도 범죄하거나 하나님을 원망하지
않았습니다(욥기 1:20-22, 현대인의 성경). 저는 이 말씀을 묵상할 때 어떻게 욥은 모든 것을 잃어버리고
나서도 하나님을 원망하지 않았을까 라는 의문이 들었습니다. 만일 그가 기복신앙을 추구하는 교인이었더라면 분명히 하나님을 원망할 수밖에 없었을 것입니다. 그러나 욥은 그의 모든 자녀와 소유물을 다 잃어버린 상황에서도
하나님께 찬양과 경배를 드렸습니다. 그가 그리할 수 있었던 것은 욥의 신앙은 하나님이 누구이신지는 아는 믿음이요 하나님의 주권을 인정하는 믿음이었기 때문이라 생각합니다.
