주님, 주님 앞에 우리의 허물이 많습니다.  우리 죄가 우리에게 대하여 증거하니 우리가 주님께 범죄한 것을 인정합니다.  우리는 주님을 배반하고 거역하였으며 주님을 따르기를 거절하였습니다.  우리가 다른 사람들을 괴롭히고 악한 것을 생각하며 거짓말을 하였습니다.  그래서 우리 주변에는 공정과 정의와 진실과 정직이 사라졌습니다.  이처럼 어느 곳에서도 진실을 찾아볼 없게 되었습니다’(이사야 59:12-15, 현대인의 성경).
