I am not doing the good things I want, but I am doing the evil things I do not want.

I am not doing the good things I want,

but I am doing the evil things I do not want.

 

 

My heart loves the law of God and follows it,

but my flesh follows the law of sin.

This law of sin is at war with my mind,

making me a slave to the sin that is still within me.

Therefore, I am not doing the good things I want,

but I am doing the evil things I do not want to do.

If I do something I do not want to do,

it is not I who does it, but the sin within me

(Romans 7:20-25).
