The Inseparable Love of God (1) [ Romans 8:38-39 ] Why can nothing separate us from the love of God? 1. Because God’s love is eternal. Romans 8:29a says: “For those whom He foreknew…” The word “foreknew” refers to before eternity began —before the creation of heaven and earth . The phrase “those whom He foreknew” does not simply mean knowing about someone intellectually, but rather loving them. In other words, it refers to “those whom God loved from eternity past.” Amos 3:2a says: “You only have I known of all the families of the earth.” If “known” merely meant intellectual knowledge, that would imply that God only knew Israel and did not know the other nations—which cannot be true, because the all-knowing God lacks knowledge of nothing. Therefore, “I have known you only” means “I have loved you only.” God loved Israel among all the nations of the earth. 억지로 풀지 말아야 합니다.

억지로 풀지 말아야 합니다.




성경을 열심히 연구한답시고 그 성경 말씀을 억지로 풀어서(벧후 3:16) 자기 마음대로 해석하여 자기 마음대로 믿는 것을 볼 때 성경을 보는 틀(frame)이 있어야 한다고 생각됩니다.  그 틀은 바른 교훈(sound doctrine)으로서 제 개인적으로는 개혁신학의 틀이라고 생각합니다.  물론 그 틀안에 박혀 있는 것도 위험할 수 있지만(하나님의 계시에 열려있지 않는 상태) 그 틀밖에서 자기 마음대로 성경을 해석하는 것은 더 위험하다고 생각합니다.
