조금 구원하시는 하나님?
하나님의 말씀을 버리므로(대하12:1) 하나님을 버려서(5절) 하나님께 죄를 범하고 있을 때에(2절) 우리는 마땅히 하나님께 버림을 받아야 하는데도 불구하고(5절) 하나님께서는 우리를 세상 사람들에게 넘겨 우리의 죄의 결과로 고통을 당하게 허락하십니다(5절). 그 결과 우리는 스스로 겸비하여 '하나님은 의로우시다'라고 고백하게 됩니다(6절). 그 때 하나님께서는 우리가 스스로 겸비함을 보시고 우리를 충만히 벌하지 않으시고 우리를 "조금 구원"하십니다(7절). 하나님은 우리에게 충분히 진노를 쏟지 않으십니다(7절). 그 이유는 이미 하나님께서는 십자가에 못박히신 독생자 예수님에게 모든 진노를 쏟아 부셨기 때문입니다. 이것은 하나님의 크신 은혜가 아닐 수 없습니다.
