Devotional Reflection Based on the Incident of Peter Cutting Off Malchus's Ear: “Then one of those standing near drew his sword and struck the servant of the high priest, cutting off his ear.” ( Mark 14:47, Today's Korean Version ) 1. Identifying the People Involved: The person who stood beside Jesus and drew the sword was Simon Peter . The servant of the high priest was named Malchus . “Then Simon Peter, who had a sword, drew it and struck the high priest’s servant, cutting off his right ear. The servant’s name was Malchus.” ( John 18:10 ) 2. 내가 가는 길을 그가 아시나니 그가 나를 단련하신 후에는 내가 순금 같이 되어 믿는 욥과 같은 신앙인은 주님의 뜻이 일정함과 주님의 마음에 하고자 하시는 것이면 그것을 행하심을 믿음으로 나는 그분 앞에서 떨며 모든 것을 생각하고  그를 두려워하 가운데서  발이 그의 걸음을 바로 르며 “내가 그의 길을 지켜 치우치지 아니하고 내가 그의 입술의 명령을 어기지 아니하고 정한 음식보다 그의 입의 말씀을 귀히 깁니다(욥기 23:10-15).
