We are taught that we must become upright people who, in God’s sight, are blameless and fully keep His commandments. “In the time of Herod king of Judea there was a priest named Zechariah, who belonged to the priestly division of Abijah; his wife Elizabeth was also a descendant of Aaron. Both of them were righteous in the sight of God, observing all the Lord’s commands and decrees blamelessly” [(Modern Translation: “When Herod was king of Judea, there was a priest named Zechariah of the division of Abijah, and his wife Elizabeth also came from the family of Aaron. They were righteous before God and faithfully kept all the Lord’s commandments and regulations without fault”)] (Luke 1:5–6). 차별 대우 받는 것을 경계해야 합니다.
많은 사람들 앞에서 차별 대우를 받는 것을 경계해야 합니다. 그렇지 않으면 우리는 스스로 특별한 존재인 줄 착각하여 사람들 앞에서 우리 자신을 스스로 높이려고 할 것이기 때문입니다. 사람들 앞에서 특별한 존재임을 느끼는 것은 별 의미가 없습니다. 오히려 우리는 하나님 앞에서 선택 받은 특별한 존재임을 잊지 말아야 합니다.
We must guard our heart when we get special treatment by many people. If not, we will delude ourselves in a way that we think we are very special so that we may exalt ourselves above others.
Feeling that I am special in front of many people doesn't matter that much. But feeling that I am chosen by God and that He considers me very special, it matters the most.
