We are taught that we must become upright people who, in God’s sight, are blameless and fully keep His commandments. “In the time of Herod king of Judea there was a priest named Zechariah, who belonged to the priestly division of Abijah; his wife Elizabeth was also a descendant of Aaron. Both of them were righteous in the sight of God, observing all the Lord’s commands and decrees blamelessly” [(Modern Translation: “When Herod was king of Judea, there was a priest named Zechariah of the division of Abijah, and his wife Elizabeth also came from the family of Aaron. They were righteous before God and faithfully kept all the Lord’s commandments and regulations without fault”)] (Luke 1:5–6). 우리가 힘들고 어려울 때 아무도 우리를 위로해 줄 수 없을 때가 있을 것입니다. 그 때에 우리는 가까운 가족 식구나 친구들을 의지하려고 할 수 있을 것입니다. 그래서 우리는 우리 마음에 있는 것을 나누며 쏟아내기까지 합니다. 그러므로 그들에게 이해를 받고 위로를 받고 싶지만 오히려 더 낙심이 될 수도 있습니다. 우리가 아무리 그들에게 위로를 받으려고 가까이 다가가도 오히려 그들이 우리에게 낯선 사람들처럼 느껴질 수도 있습니다(시편 69:8). 그리고 우리는 그들에게 우리의 불평과 원망을 쏟아내므로 하나님께 죄를 범할 수가 있습니다. 그러므로 우리는 하나님을 의지하며 또한 하나님께 기도해야 합니다(13절)
