The Inseparable Love of God (1) [ Romans 8:38-39 ] Why can nothing separate us from the love of God? 1. Because God’s love is eternal. Romans 8:29a says: “For those whom He foreknew…” The word “foreknew” refers to before eternity began —before the creation of heaven and earth . The phrase “those whom He foreknew” does not simply mean knowing about someone intellectually, but rather loving them. In other words, it refers to “those whom God loved from eternity past.” Amos 3:2a says: “You only have I known of all the families of the earth.” If “known” merely meant intellectual knowledge, that would imply that God only knew Israel and did not know the other nations—which cannot be true, because the all-knowing God lacks knowledge of nothing. Therefore, “I have known you only” means “I have loved you only.” God loved Israel among all the nations of the earth. 처음으로 저희 교회 장로님에게 돈을 빌렸습니다. 그럴 수밖에 없었던 이유는 오늘 아침 축구한 후 집에 가서 옷 갈아 입다가 제 지갑을 다른 옷 주머니에 넣어둔 것을 깜박하고 교회에 왔기 때문입니다. ㅎㅎ (집에 다시 갔다 나오기가 좀 그래서리 ㅎㅎ) 제가 요즘 이렇게 정신이 없답니다 ㅎ 감사하게도 오늘 장로님께서 교회에 오실 일이 있으셔서 제가 장로님께 지갑을 잊어버리고 집에서 못가지고 왔다고 말씀 드린 후 돈 좀 빌려달라고 부탁을 드렸습니다(제가 $25을 빌린 이유는 오늘 점심, 저녁 및 여기 목양실에서 자고 내일 토요 새벽기도회 후 혹시 아침까지 세끼를 사 먹어야 하기에). ㅎㅎ 아마 제가 장로님을 알고 지낸지 42년 만엔 처음으로 장로님께 돈을 빌린 것 같습니다. 하하. 그래서 그 돈으로 교회 근처에 있는 제가 좋아하는 멕시칸 음식 El Pollo Loco(미친 닭)를 사서 조금 전에 목양실에 베불리 잘 먹었답니다. 하하.
