Devotional Reflection Based on the Incident of Peter Cutting Off Malchus's Ear: “Then one of those standing near drew his sword and struck the servant of the high priest, cutting off his ear.” ( Mark 14:47, Today's Korean Version ) 1. Identifying the People Involved: The person who stood beside Jesus and drew the sword was Simon Peter . The servant of the high priest was named Malchus . “Then Simon Peter, who had a sword, drew it and struck the high priest’s servant, cutting off his right ear. The servant’s name was Malchus.” ( John 18:10 ) 2. 하나님을 저버리는 요구?





이스라엘 사람들은 이집트에서 그들을 인도해 내어 이집트 사람들과 그들을 괴롭히던 모든 원수들의 손에서 그들을 구해 주신 하나님이시요 그들을 모든 재난과 고통에서 구출한 그들의 하나님을 저버리고 오히려 자신들에게 왕을 세워 주시길 요구했습니다(사무엘상 10:18-19, 현대인의 성경).  우리가 하나님께 기도로 요구하는 것들 중 혹여나 하나님을 저버리는 요구를 하고 있는 것은 아닌지 자아성찰해볼 필요가 있습니다.
