Devotional Reflection Based on the Incident of Peter Cutting Off Malchus's Ear: “Then one of those standing near drew his sword and struck the servant of the high priest, cutting off his ear.” ( Mark 14:47, Today's Korean Version ) 1. Identifying the People Involved: The person who stood beside Jesus and drew the sword was Simon Peter . The servant of the high priest was named Malchus . “Then Simon Peter, who had a sword, drew it and struck the high priest’s servant, cutting off his right ear. The servant’s name was Malchus.” ( John 18:10 ) 2. 왜 그리도 욕심을 크게 내는 것인가?



광야와 같은 이 세상인데 왜 그리도 욕심을 크게 내며 하나님을 시험하고 있는 것인가?  그 원인은 우리가 하나님께서 과거에 우리의 삶 속에 행하신 큰 일을 속히 잊어버리고 또한 하나님의 가르침을 기다리지 않고 있기 때문이다.  그 결과 우리의 영혼은 쇠약해졌다(시편 106:13-15, 21).
