돈을 좋아하는 교인들은 주님께서 잠시 이 땅에 맡기신 주님의 재산을 주님의 뜻대로 재산 관리를 하지 않고 오히려 주님 보시기에 낭비를 합니다. 그래서 주님께서 그들에게 '더 이상 내가 너에게 재산을 맡길 수 없으니 지금까지 네가 맡아 하던 청지기 직무 일을 다 정리하라'고 말씀하십니다. 그 때 돈을 좋아하는 교인들은 이 세상 사람들처럼 자기 나름대로 지혜롭게 한답시고 정직하지 못하게 불의한 재물을 불성실하게 모읍니다. 그러한 자들에게 주님께서는 "너희는 하나님과 재물을 함께 섬길 수 없다"고 말씀하십니다. 그런데도 돈을 좋아하는 교인들은 그 말씀을 듣고 비웃습니다(누가복음 16:1-14, 현대인의 성경).
