God’s love, which is stronger than death, is causing me to continue walking the path of the mission the Lord has given me (John 6:1–15). “At that very time some Pharisees came and said to Him, ‘Leave this place and go somewhere else. Herod wants to kill You.’ He replied, ‘Go tell that fox, “I will keep driving out demons and healing people today and tomorrow, and on the third day I will reach My goal.” In any case, I must press on today and tomorrow and the next day—for surely no prophet can die outside Jerusalem! 이웃에게 사랑과 존경을 받는 사람
아하수에로 왕은 모르드개를 가장 높은 자리에 앉혔습니다. 왕은 유다 사람 모르드개를 자기 다음 가는 지위를 줘서 국무총리가
되게 하였습니다. 모르드개는 모든 유다
사람의 사랑과 존경을 한 몸에 받았습니다. 그 이유는 그가 유다 사람의 이익과 자기 민족의 복지를 위해서 최선을 다해 일했기 때문이었습니다(에스더 10:2-3, 현대인의 성경). 저는 이 말씀을 묵상할 때 이웃의 이익과 복지(안위)를 위해 최선을 다해 일하는 사람은 그 이웃 사람들에게 사랑과 존경을 받을 수밖에 없다고
생각합니다. 그리고 주님께서 높이는
사람은 더욱더 겸손히 낮아져서 예수님처럼 이웃을 섬겨야 한다는 교훈을 받습니다.
