Identifying the People Involved: The person who stood beside Jesus and drew the sword was Simon Peter . The servant of the high priest was named Malchus . “Then Simon Peter, who had a sword, drew it and struck the high priest’s servant, cutting off his right ear. 목자가 양떼를 우리로 모으듯이 선한 목자이신 주님께서는 아직 주님의 교회 안에 들어오지 않고 있는 하나님께서 사랑하사 창세 전에 선택하신 남은 자들 반드시 모아 주님의 교회 안으로 들어오게 하실 것입니다.  때에는 목장에 양떼가 가득한 것처럼 주님의 교회 안에는 수많은 하나님의 사람들로 붐빌 것입니다.  주님께서는 선두에 스셔서 그들을 죄로 더럽혀진 세상에서 인도해 내시사 영원한 하늘 나라로 인도하실 것입니다(참고: 미가 2:12-13, 현대인의 성경).
