그리스도 안에서 한몸 (엡4:4-5; 고전12:25; 롬12:15)
교회는 신자들,
즉 하나님이 피로 값주고 구속하신 사람들을 말합니다.
바울은 교회를 그리스도의 몸으로 설명하였습니다.
다양한 지체들이 있고 각 지체들의 역할이 다르지만 모두 함께 그리스도의 한 몸을 이루는 것이 교회인 것입니다.
다시 말해서, 다양성 속에서 통일성을 지켜 나가는 곳이 바로 교회라고 할 수 있는 것입니다.
하나님께서는 그리스도의 한 몸인 교회에 왜 다양한 지체들을 두셨습니까?
그 이유는 몸 가운데서 분쟁이 없고 오직 여러 지체가 서로 같이하여 돌아보게 하기를 원하셨기 때문입니다(고전12:25).
그러기에 교회는 돌보는 사역이 필수적인 것입니다. 즐거워 하는 자들과 함께 즐거워하며, 우는 자들과 함께
우는 공동체(롬12:15)야말로 주님 보시기에 아름다운 교회가 아닐
수 없는 것입니다.
이러한 공동체를 세워 나가는 것이 가능한 이유는 성삼위일체 하나님 때문입니다.
다양성 속에 완전한 통일성을 이루시는 성삼위일체 하나님처럼 교회는 다양성 속에서 통일성을 이루어 나가야 하는 것입니다.
우리에게는 한 소망이 있고 믿음도 하나이며 세례도 하나입니다(엡4:4-5).
한 주님을 모시고 살아가는 공동체는 다양성 속에서 교회의 통일성을 지켜나 갈 수 있는 것입니다.
