Devotional Reflection Based on the Incident of Peter Cutting Off Malchus's Ear: “Then one of those standing near drew his sword and struck the servant of the high priest, cutting off his ear.” ( Mark 14:47, Today's Korean Version ) 1. Identifying the People Involved: The person who stood beside Jesus and drew the sword was Simon Peter . The servant of the high priest was named Malchus . “Then Simon Peter, who had a sword, drew it and struck the high priest’s servant, cutting off his right ear. "여호와여 나의 발이 미끄러진다고 말할 때에 주의 인자하심이 나를 붙드셨사오며 속에 근심이 많을 때에 주의 위안이 영혼을 즐겁게 하시나이다" (시편 94 18-19).

 

신앙의 미끄럼틀에서 올라기보다 내려가고 있을 마음에 근심이 많을 어느 누구의 위로도 영혼이 거절하고 싶을 정도로 괴롭고 힘들 주님의 영원한 사랑이 나를 붙들고 계심을 깊이 경험하며주님의 위안이 영혼을 즐겁게 하므로 하나님의 하나님 되심을 인정하며 주님의 높고 위대하심을 찬양케 하시니 그저 하나님께 감사 감사할 밖에 ....
