1. 자신이 하나님께 긍휼을 입었다는 사실을 알고 있습니다(시59:17; 벧전2:10). 그는 자신의 죄로 인하여 영원히 멸망 당해야 하지만 하나님께서 긍휼히 여겨주시사 그 모든 죄를 사하여 주셨다는 사실에 감사합니다(시51:1).
2. 자기에게 죄 지은 자를 용서합니다(눅17:4). 그는 하나님께서 예수 그리스도 안에서 자기의 모든 죄를 용서함 받았다는 사실을 믿기에 그 또한 자기에게 죄 지은 자를 용서합니다.
3. 그리스도의 심장으로 고통 당하는 사람을 불쌍히 여깁니다(마 9:36, 18:33; 빌1:8). 그는 죄로 말미암아 허덕이는 사람의 죄는 단호하게 거절하고 미워하지만 그 죄인을 불쌍히 여겨 그리스도의 사랑으로 도우며 섬깁니다.
