A. What Is Biblical Mission? “Biblical mission means more than simply going overseas to plant churches or spread civilization. It means the church participating in the ‘mission of God (Missio Dei)’ and seeking the restoration of God’s rule and glory throughout the whole earth. 어머니의 삐뚤어진 자식 사랑?
어머니 리브가의 자식 사랑은 삐뚤어졌다고 생각합니다. 리브가는 맏아들 에서보다 둘째 아들 야곱을 더 사랑하여(favoritism)(창 25:28) 남편 이삭이 죽기 전에 에서에게 마음 것 축복하려던 것을 야곱으로 하여금 가로채도록 배우조정(manipulation)을 했습니다. 그녀는 이삭이 에서에게 말하는 것을 듣고(27:6) 야곱에게 명하여 좋은 염소 새끼 2마리를 자기에게 가져오면 자기가 그것으로 이삭이 즐기는 별미를 만들어 야곱으로 하여금 이삭에게 가져다 드리게 하여 식사 후 야곱으로 하여금 이삭에게 축복을 받게했습니다(8-10절). 결국 어머니 리브가는 아들 야곱으로 하여금 이삭의 눈에 "속이는 자"가 되게 했습니다(12절). 물론 하나님께서는 이러한 리브가의 삐뚤어진 자식 사랑도 사용하셔서 아브라함에게 약속하신 것을 야곱을 통해 이루셨지만 저는 왜 어머니 리브가가 에서 말고 야곱을 그리도 삐뚤어진 사랑으로 사랑을 했을까 생각해 볼 때 그 이유는 야곱은 "조용한 사람"이었고(25:27) 또한 에서가 이방인 아내로 맞아하므로 그녀의 마음에 근심이 되었고(26:35) 그 며느리들로 말미암아 라브가는 자기의 삶이 싫어졌기 때문이라 생각합니다(27:46).
