God’s love, which is stronger than death, is causing me to continue walking the path of the mission the Lord has given me (John 6:1–15). “At that very time some Pharisees came and said to Him, ‘Leave this place and go somewhere else. Herod wants to kill You.’ He replied, ‘Go tell that fox, “I will keep driving out demons and healing people today and tomorrow, and on the third day I will reach My goal.” In any case, I must press on today and tomorrow and the next day—for surely no prophet can die outside Jerusalem! 누가 하나님의 약속의 말씀을 믿고 있는 것입니까?
하나님께서는 기드온에게 이스라엘의 적군이 미디안 진영으로 내려가라고 말씀하시면서 "내가 그것을 네 손에 넘겨 주었느니라"고 말씀을 하셨습니다. 그런데 기드온은 그 하나님의 약속의 말씀을 받고 나서도 미디안 진영으로 내려가기를 두려워했던 것 같습니다. 아마도 그 이유는 미디안 사람들과 아말렉 사람들과 동방의 모든 사람들이 메뚜기의 많은 수와 같이 그들의 낙타의 수가 많아 해변에 모래가 많은 같았기 때문이었던 것 같습니다. 결국 그 이유는 기드온은 하나님의 약속의 말씀을 의심했던 것 같습니다. 설마 하나님께서 이스라엘 300명 군사로 그 많은 적군을 이기게 하실지 믿지 못했던 것 같습니다. 그런데 흥미로운 점은 미디안 진영에 있었던 한 사람은 "하나님이 미디안과 그 모든 진영을 그(기드온)의 손에 넘겨 주셨"다는 것을 알고 있었다는 것입니다(삿7:9-14). 기드온은 하나님의 약속을 믿지 못하고 있었는데 오히려 그 미디안 사람은 그 약속을 믿고 있었다는 것입니다.
