Herod wants to kill You.’   He replied, ‘Go tell that fox, “I will keep driving out demons and healing people today and tomorrow, and on the third day I will reach My goal.”   In any case, I must press on today and tomorrow and the next day—for surely no prophet can die outside Jerusalem!   Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets and stone those sent to you, how often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, and you were not willing.   Look, your house is left to you desolate.   I tell you, you will not see Me again until you say, “Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord” (Luke 13:31–35).     ...

믿음으로 말하지 않고 불신 속에서 보이는 것으로 말하되 나쁜 소문까지 퍼트린 결과 이스라엘 백성은 밤새도록 통곡하고 모세와 아론을 원망하여 "우리가 이집트에서나 광야에서 죽었으면 좋았을 텐데!"라고 말했는데 실제로 갈렙과 여호수아 외에 그 모든 사람들은 광야에서 다 죽었습니다(민수기 13:32-33, 14:1-2, 26:65, 현대인의 성경).
