책망을 은혜로 여기는 겸손함과 지혜로움
다윗은 난관 속에서도 의인의 책망을 거저할지 않았을 뿐만 아니라 그 책망을 은혜로 여겼습니다(시141:5). 어떻게 가능합니까? 사람의 본능은 난관을 만나 고통을 당하고 있을 때 위로 받기를 원할진데 ... 다윗에게는 겸손함과 지혜가 있었기 때문이라 생각합니다. 겸손이라 함은 난관과 고통, 역경을 통해서 다윗의 눈이 주님께 향하여 고정되어 기도하는 가운데 하나님 앞에서 자신의 마음을 스스로 낮추는 것을 말합니다. 다윗의 지혜를 생각할 때 잠언 9장 8절이 생각납니다: "거만한 자를 책망하지 말라 그가 너를 미워할까 두려우니라 지혜 있는 자를 책망하라 그가 너를 사랑하리라."
