Devotional Reflection Based on the Incident of Peter Cutting Off Malchus's Ear: “Then one of those standing near drew his sword and struck the servant of the high priest, cutting off his ear.” ( Mark 14:47, Today's Korean Version ) 1. Identifying the People Involved: The person who stood beside Jesus and drew the sword was Simon Peter . The servant of the high priest was named Malchus . “Then Simon Peter, who had a sword, drew it and struck the high priest’s servant, cutting off his right ear. The servant’s name was Malchus.” ( John 18:10 ) 2. 내가 어려울 때(시편 116:6), 내가 크게 고통을 당하였을 때(10), 내가 환난과 슬픔을 만났을 때(3), 내가 예수님의 이름으로 기도하기를 '주님께 구하오니 내 생명을 건지소서'하였습니다(4).

은혜로우시며 의로우시며 긍휼이 많으신 하나님은(5내 기도에 귀를 기울이시고(2내 음성과 내 간구를 들으사(1나를 보호해주시고 나를 죽음에서(8) 구원해 주시고(6내 눈물을 그치게 하셨으며 내 발이 넘어지지 않게 하셨습니다(8, 현대인의 성경).  내 영혼이 하나님의 은혜로 평안함을 누리게 되었습니다(7). 

그러므로 내가 주님을 사랑합니다(1).  내가 평생에 기도할 것입니다(2).  "내가 이 생존에 세계에서 하나님의 뜻대로 살"것입니다(9, 현대인의 성경).
