Devotional Reflection Based on the Incident of Peter Cutting Off Malchus's Ear: “Then one of those standing near drew his sword and struck the servant of the high priest, cutting off his ear.” ( Mark 14:47, Today's Korean Version ) 1. Identifying the People Involved: The person who stood beside Jesus and drew the sword was Simon Peter . The servant of the high priest was named Malchus . “Then Simon Peter, who had a sword, drew it and struck the high priest’s servant, cutting off his right ear. The servant’s name was Malchus.” ( John 18:10 ) 2. 하나님께서는 나에게 약속의 말씀을 주셨고  약속을 이루시는 하나님의 뜻이 변하지 아니함을 충분히 나타내시려고 맹세로 일을 보증하셨습니다.  그리고 하나님께서는 앞에 있는 소망을 얻으려고 피난처를 찾는 나에게 안위를 받게 하십니다.  내가 소망을 가지고 있는 것은  영혼에 같아서 튼튼하고 견고합니다(히브리서 6:17-19).
