하나님을 신뢰한다는 것
YMCA에 가서 운동한 후 싸우나를 할 때 종종 보게 되는 것은 조그만한 수영장 안에 엄마들이나 아빠들이 들어가 있고 2, 3살 되보이는 아이들이 수영장 밖에서 자기 엄마나 아빠를 쳐다보면서 수영장 안으로 점프하는 모습을 봅니다. 주로 동양인 엄마들은 점프하는 아이를 수영장 안에 풍덩 빠지기 전에 아이를 catch하는데 미국 엄마들이나 아빠들은 아이가 물안에 풍덩빠지게 놓아두었다가 아이를 물 안에서 끄집어 내는 것을 목격합니다.
저는 잠언 3장 5-6절 말씀을 묵상하다가 제가 목격한 그 모습이 생각났습니다. 우리가 하나님을 온 마음을 다하여 신뢰한다는 것은 그 아이들처럼 자기 아빠나 엄마를 믿고 자기 자신의 몸을 던져 수영장 안으로 점프하는 것이라 생각되었습니다.
