아브라함은 그가 사랑하는 독자 이삭까지도 아끼지 아니하고 결박하여 제단 나무 위에 놓았지만 하나님께서 죽이지 못하도록 멈추게 하셨습니다( 22:1-19).  그러나 하나님은 사랑하고 기뻐하시는 독생자 예수님을 아끼지 아니하시고 저주의 나무인 십자가에 죽도록 내버려 두셨습니다( 3:17, 3:16, 8:32).
