Devotional Reflection Based on the Incident of Peter Cutting Off Malchus's Ear: “Then one of those standing near drew his sword and struck the servant of the high priest, cutting off his ear.” ( Mark 14:47, Today's Korean Version ) 1. Identifying the People Involved: The person who stood beside Jesus and drew the sword was Simon Peter . The servant of the high priest was named Malchus . “Then Simon Peter, who had a sword, drew it and struck the high priest’s servant, cutting off his right ear. The servant’s name was Malchus.” ( John 18:10 ) 2. 수동적 섬김 




주님의 몸된 교회를 섬김에 있어서 수동적(passive) 필요가 있음을 느낍니다.  보이는 장점은 우리가 수동적으로 섬길 때 주님께서 주님의 교회를 세우시는 것을 분명하게 보인다는 것입니다.   다른 장점은 우리가 수동적으로 섬길 화목하게 사역을 함께 하는데 유익하다는 것입니다.  우리가 너무나 지나치게 능동적으로 교회를 섬기려 하면 주님이 교회를 세우시는 역사보다 우리의 행함이 보이고 또한 화목하게 사역을 함께 하기가 어려울 수도 있지 않나 생각합니다.
