"분리의 산"과 "들 염소 바위"
“분리의 산”(“셀라하마느곳”)이라고 불린 곳에서 다윗을 잡으려고 포위망을 좁히고 있었던 사울 왕과 그의 군대로 다윗을 건져 내신 하나님께서는(사무엘상 23:26-28, 현대인의 성경) “들 염소
바위”가 있는 곳에서 사울 왕을 다윗에게 넘겨주셨지만(24:4, 9, 18) 다윗은 사울의 옷자락만 살며시 잘랐고 그를 죽이지 않았습니다. 그 이유는 다윗은 하나님께서 택하시고 기름부터 세우신 왕을
해하는 것은 하나님께서 금하신 것임을 알고 있었고(6, 9절, 현대인의
성경) 또한 그를 아꼈기 때문이었습니다(9절, 현대인의 성경). 자기를
해치려는 원수조차도 아끼는 다윗을 생각할 때 하나님께서 하나님과 원수 된 우리(로마서 5:10)를 이처럼 사랑하사 독생자를 주신 것이 생각났습니다(요한복음 3:16). 그래서 예수님께서 우리에게 “원수를 사랑하고 너희를 핍박하는 사람들을 위해 기도하라”고 말씀하신 것 같습니다(마태복음 5:44, 현대인의 성경).
