"너는 내 성전을 지을 자가 아니다."
하나님께서 다윗으로 하여금 그의 궁전에 정착하여 평안히 살게 하신
때에 다윗의 마음에는 하나님의 성전을 건축하고 싶어했습니다(사무엘하7:1-5, 현대인의 성경). 그러나
하나님께서는 나단 선지자를 통해 다윗에게 “너는 내 성전을 지을 자가 아니다”(5절, 현대인의 성경)라고 말씀하셨습니다. 그리고 하나님께서는 다윗의 아들 하나를 왕으로 세워 그의
나라를 견고하게 할 것이며 “그가 나를 위해 성전을 건축할 자이다”라고
말씀하셨습니다(12-13절, 현대인의 성경). 만일 주님께서 주님의 뜻을 나를 통해서 이루시지 않으시고
내 아들을 통해 이루실 것이라면 내 뜻대로 하지 마시고 주님의 뜻대로 하시길 기원합니다(마태복음 26:39,
