하나님께서 돌아오라고 경고하였지만 그 경고를 듣지 않는 하나님의 백성들에게
하나님께서 ‘왜 너희는 나의 명령에 불순종하고 스스로 불행을 초래하느냐?’고 묻고 계십니다(참고: 역대하 24:20, 현대인의 성경).
베풀어 준 은혜를 잊어버리고 오히려 그 은혜를 베풀어 준 자를 핍박하고
죽이기까지 하는 자는 하나님의 심판을 받을 것입니다! (참고: 역대하 20:22,
24, 현대인의 성경).
하나님께서는 “소수의 병력”에 불과한 시리아(아람) 군으로 하여금 하나님을 저버린 요아스 왕과 유다 백성들의 “대군”과 맞서 싸워 승리를 얻게 하시므로 요아스 왕을 심판하셨습니다(역대하 22:24,
현대인의 성경). 공의로우신 하나님께서 하나님을 저버린 자와 공동체를 심판하실 때 그 공동체의 숫자는 아무 의미가 없습니다. 하나님께서는 소수의 교인들로 하여금 그 교회를 충분히 와해시키실
수 있습니다.
