불신자를 통해서도 말씀을 더 확실히 갖게 하시는 하나님
우리 하나님은 불신자를 통해서도 하나님의 약속의 말씀을 더 확실히 갖게 하시는 하나님이십니다.
하나님께서는 기드온에게 "내가 반드시 너와 함께 하리니 네가 미디안 사람 치기를 한 사람을 치듯 하리라"고 말씀하셨습니다(삿 6:16). 다시 말하면, 하나님께서는 기드온의 손으로 이스라엘을 구원하시겠다고 말씀하셨습니다(36절). 좀 더 구체적으로 하나님께서는 기드온에게 "내가 이 물을 핥아 먹은 삼백 명으로 너희를 구원하며 미디안을 네 손에 넘겨 주"겠다고 약속하셨습니다(7:7). 그런데도 기드온은 그 하나님의 약속의 말씀을 전적으로 믿지 못했고 미디안과의 전쟁에서 승리의 확신이 없었던 것 같습니다. 그는 두려워했습니다(10-11절). 그런데 기드온은 하나님의 말씀대로 자기 부하 부라와 함께 적군 미디안 진영에 내려가서 어떠한 사람이 그의 친구에게 말한 꿈 이야기와 그 친구의 꿈 해몽을 듣고 나서야 하나님의 약속의 말씀을 믿고 승리(구원)의 확신을 가지게 된 것입니다(13-15절).
