Devotional Reflection Based on the Incident of Peter Cutting Off Malchus's Ear: “Then one of those standing near drew his sword and struck the servant of the high priest, cutting off his ear.” ( Mark 14:47, Today's Korean Version ) 1. Identifying the People Involved: The person who stood beside Jesus and drew the sword was Simon Peter . The servant of the high priest was named Malchus . “Then Simon Peter, who had a sword, drew it and struck the high priest’s servant, cutting off his right ear. The servant’s name was Malchus.” ( John 18:10 ) 2. 사람을 먼저 보내어 가나안 땅을 정탐케 하자는 말이 진정 좋게 여길 만한 말이었을까? ( 1:22-23)  이스라엘 지파에서 사람씩 사람을 택하게 것이 진정 잘한 것일까? (23(만일 여호수아와 갈렙만을 택해서 가나안 땅을 정탐케 했더라면 어찌되었을까?)  12 정탐꾼들을 먼저 가나안 땅에 보내지 말고 이스라엘 백성보다 먼저 가시는 하나님을(30, 33) 믿고 가나안 땅으로 전진하면 안되었던 것일까?
