A. What Is Biblical Mission? “Biblical mission means more than simply going overseas to plant churches or spread civilization. It means the church participating in the ‘mission of God (Missio Dei)’ and seeking the restoration of God’s rule and glory throughout the whole earth. Mission is not a program that begins with human enthusiasm; rather, it is the heart of God that runs throughout the Bible, from Genesis to Revelation, and is a fundamental reason for the church’s existence. Let me clearly summarize five essential principles of true mission as presented in Scripture. 🌍 1. The Mission of God (Missio Dei) The subject and initiator of mission is not human beings but God. 환난 중에서도 즐거워하며 하나님을 찬양하며
하나님의 영광을 선포하십시다!
저는 ‘우리가 하나님의 영광을 바라고
즐거워한다’(We rejoice in the hope of the glory of God)(로마서5:2)라는 말씀을 받을 때 ‘우리가 환난 중에도 즐거워한다’(We also
rejoice in our sufferings)라는 말씀이 생각났습니다(3절). 우리가 환난 중에도 즐거워하는 이유는 우리가 하나님께서 강림하실
때에 영광(데살로니가전서 4:13-17; 고린도전서 15:51-52;
빌립보서 3:21)을 소망하고 있기 때문입니다. 또한 우리가 환난 중에서도 즐거워하는 이유는 그리스도가 전파되고
있기 때문입니다(We rejoice and will continue to rejoice because Christ is
preached)(빌립보서 1:18).
그러므로 우리는 “깊은 옥”(사도행전
16:24)에 가둔 바 된 것 같을지라도 “기도하고 하나님을 찬송”합니다(25절). 우리는 우리 자신의 영혼에게 “내 영혼아 네가 어찌하여 낙심하며 어찌하여 내 속에서 불안해하는가 너는 하나님께 소망을 두라”고 선포하면서 하나님께 간구하는 가운데 하나님의 임재와 도우심으로 말미암아 우리는 하나님을 “여전히 찬송”합니다(시편 42:5, 11;
43:5). 그 이유는 십자가에 죽임을 당하신 어린
양은 영광과 찬송을 받으시기에 합당하시기 때문입니다(요한계시록 5:12, 13). 하나님께서는 우리를 사랑하사 세상을 창조하시기 전에 그리스도
안에서 우리를 선택하시고 우리를 자기 자녀로 예정하신 목적은 우리가 하나님이 사랑하시는 아들 예수 그리스도 안에서 우리에게 거저 주신 은혜와 영광을
찬양하게 하려는 것이기 때문입니다(에베소서 1:4-6, 현대인의 성경). “그래서 내가 종일 주를 찬양하며 주의 영광을 선포합니다”(시편 71:8, 현대인의 성경).
