우리는 어떤 탐욕에도 빠져들지 않도록 조심해야 합니다.
아합 왕은 하나님의 명령에 순종하는 신실한 나봇의 말을 듣고 기분이
나빠 시무룩한 채 왕궁으로 돌아가서 자기 침대에 누워 얼굴을 돌리고 아무것도 먹지 않았습니다(열왕기상 21:3-4, 현대인의 성경). 이렇게 탐심을 품은 자는 하나님의 명령에 신실하게 순종하는
그리스도인으로 인해서도 자기가 원하는 것을 그에게 얻지 못하므로 기분 나빠 할 수 있습니다. 그러므로 우리는 어떤 탐욕에도 빠져들지 않도록 조심해야 합니다(누가복음 12:15, 공동번역).
