자발적으로 우리 각자의 십자가를 달게 지고 예수님을 따라야 합니다.
로마 군인들은 예수님을 십자가에 못박으려고 끌어 나가다가 구레네 사람 시몬을 만나 “강제로”를 붙잡아 그로 하여금 “억지로”
예수님의 십자가를 지고 가게 하였습니다(마태복음 27:31-32;
마가복음 15:21, 현대인의 성경). 예수님의 말씀이 생각납니다:
“누구든지 나를 따라 오려거든 자기를 버리고 제 십자가를 지고 나를 따르라”(마태복음 16:24, 현대인의 성경). 이 말씀대로 우리는 예수님을 따라가는 예수님의 제자들로서 억지로가 아니라 자발적으로 우리 각자의 십자가를 달게 지고 예수님을 따라야 합니다. 결코 예수님은 우리로 하여금 강제로 우리의 십자가를 지게 하시는 분은 아니십니다.
