Herod wants to kill You.’ He replied, ‘Go tell that fox, “I will keep driving out demons and healing people today and tomorrow, and on the third day I will reach My goal.” In any case, I must press on today and tomorrow and the next day—for surely no prophet can die outside Jerusalem! Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets and stone those sent to you, how often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, and you were not willing. 하나님의 시험은 이스라엘 백성이 하나님의 지시대로 하나님께서 하늘에서 양식을 비 처럼 내릴 때 매일 나가서 그날그날 필요한 만큼의 양식만 거두는 것이었습니다. 그리고 6일째 되는 날에는 매일 거두는 분량의 두 배를 거두어 예비하는 것이었습니다(출애굽기 16:2-5, 현대인의 성경). 저는 이 하나님의 시험이 믿음이 없이는 통과(pass)할 수없는 시험이라 생각합니다. 그 이유는 이집트에서 고기와 빵을 배불리 먹었다고 말하면서 광야에서 모조리 굶어 죽겠다고 생각했던 이스라엘 백성의 입장에서 하나님의 말씀대로 매일 나가서 그날그날 필요한 만큼의 양식만을 거둔다는 것은 겸손함뿐만 아니라 엄청난 절제력이 필요했을 것이라고 생각하기 때문입니다. 그리고 6일째 되는 날에는 매일 거두는 분량의 두 배를 거두어 예비했어야 했는데 믿음으로 7일째 되는 날인 안식일을 거룩히 지키기 위해서 그리했어야했던 이스라엘 백성의 입장에서는 1-5일째 되는 날에도 두 배를 거두어 들이고 싶었을 수도 있고 또한 7일째 되는 날에도 6일 동안 했던 것처럼 나가서 그날 필요한 만큼의 양식을 거두어 들이고 싶었을 것이기 때문입니다. 지금 우리에게 임한 하나님의 시험은 무엇입니까? 지금 우리는 그 하나님의 시험을 믿음으로 통과하고 있는 것일까요?
